Non-contact detection

Ultrasonic Joint and Insect Detection Systems

Systems: Ultrasonic joint detection · Insect detection

Two non-contact detection methods for the pouch production line: ultrasound identifies film splices, while optical imaging checks for insect foreign matter.

01 / FILM PATHSingle-layer, flat filmFor ultrasonic joint detection, keep the film taut and centered through the sensing area.
02 / POUCH PATHFlat, non-overlapping pouchesFor optical inspection, avoid folding, overlap and unstable pouch movement.
03 / STABLE SIGNALClean, low-vibration positionKeep sensing surfaces clean and avoid vibration or strong direct light near the detection window.

01 / Film splice detection

Ultrasonic Joint Detection System

Identify film splices without contacting the film. The probe monitors thickness changes and sends a switching signal to the connected sorter.

Before installationSingle-layer film only. The supplied specification excludes multi-layer laminated film from normal detection.

Product overview 6 points
  • Non-contact ultrasonic sensing: the probe does not touch the film, avoiding scratches, indentations, abrasion and surface damage.
  • Real-time monitoring of single-layer film thickness fluctuations. The factory-default trigger threshold is a thickness difference over 0.003 mm.
  • Standard switching-value signal for linkage with CUCKOO pouch sorting machines. Confirm the interface for the selected machine; the configured rejection system determines the discharge action.
  • Ultrasonic sensing is not dependent on film colour, printed patterns, ink layers, static electricity, light transmission, or matte / bright appearance. Check compatibility with the actual film.
  • Compact, integrated structure for installation on bag-making and sorting lines without complicated equipment modification; the actual mounting arrangement depends on the line.
  • High-speed, real-time response designed for continuous operation with the supporting sorter. Validate detection reliability and the operating speed under actual production conditions.
Installation requirements 5 checks
  • The film passing through the sensing area must be single-layer film. Multi-layer laminated film cannot be detected normally under the supplied specification.
  • Keep the film flat and taut, without obvious jitter, shaking, deviation or wrinkles.
  • Run the film horizontally, parallel to the ultrasonic probe and through the centre of the sensing window.
  • Keep the probe surface clean. Remove plastic dust, ink residue and oil stains to avoid signal attenuation.
  • Avoid strong external vibration near the mounting position; vibration can make thickness-signal collection unstable.

02 / Insect foreign-matter inspection

Insect Detection System

High-speed optical imaging checks for insect foreign matter inside plastic pouches, identifies affected products and sends a rejection signal.

Before installationPresent pouches individually and flat. Do not stack, fold or overlap them in the camera window.

Product overview 6 points
  • Non-contact, high-precision optical imaging inspects pouches without scratching or damaging the packaging.
  • A high-speed camera captures small insect foreign objects inside plastic pouches, marks defective products and outputs rejection signals.
  • Standard switching-value output links inspection with CUCKOO pouch sorting equipment. The selected rejection configuration removes the affected row or individual defective pouch.
  • The supplied description reports stable inspection across pouch colour, printing, transparency and static electricity. Confirm visibility and detection performance using actual pouch samples; this is not an unconditional guarantee for every material.
  • Compact, integrated structure for existing bag-making and sorting lines, intended to limit major reconstruction of the original equipment.
  • Fast image processing supports high-speed, continuous production. Confirm the operating speed, missed-detection risk and false-alarm performance during commissioning.
Installation requirements 7 checks
  • Spread pouches flat and present them as a single, non-overlapping layer. Stacked, folded or double-layer pouch presentation cannot be inspected accurately.
  • Keep the conveying section smooth and stable, with pouches flat and without obvious jitter, swing, deviation or severe wrinkles.
  • Pass each pouch horizontally through the centre of the camera window, keeping it parallel to the lens.
  • Keep the camera lens and light-source surfaces clean. Plastic dust, ink residue and oil stains can blur images and cause missed inspection.
  • Avoid strong external vibration near the mounting position; it can distort images and cause false alarms.
  • Avoid strong direct light on the detection window, as it can interfere with imaging.
  • Clean the camera lens regularly to prevent dust-related false detection.

Specification

The details that
shape your line.

Film-splice detection on single-layer film and insect foreign-matter inspection on individually presented, flat pouches.

*Factory-default ultrasonic trigger threshold. Detection performance and compatibility depend on the material, installation and operating conditions.

Ultrasonic trigger thresholdFactory default: thickness difference over 0.003 mm
Ultrasonic methodNon-contact monitoring of single-layer film thickness fluctuations
Ultrasonic material restrictionSingle-layer film only; multi-layer laminated film cannot be detected normally under the supplied specification
Joint-system outputStandard switching-value rejection signal
Insect-system methodHigh-precision optical imaging
Insect-system outputMarks defective products and outputs a standard switching-value signal
IntegrationOutputs a signal to a compatible CUCKOO pouch sorting machine; the selected machine configuration determines the rejection action

Detection and rejection are separate steps. These systems identify a splice or foreign matter and send a signal. Whether an affected row is rejected or an individual defective pouch is removed depends on the selected sorter and rejection configuration.
